My name is Tsegaye Sendek, I finished my Alchemy World training in 2012: ITC, Bright Future and New Venture Creation.
From my training with Alchemy World I have learned some good lessons: that it is important for me to take charge and change my life.
Currently I have a small beauty shop with shampoo products, makeup, hair extensions, perfume and some small jewelry.
I have a first degree (bachelor degree) in biology and a second degree (master degree) in mechanical engineering from Bahir Dar University.
But after my training with Alchemy World my attitude towards business has changed; it has opened my mind for business and enabled me to act. It has improved my life now and given me opportunity for a better future. It has taught me to make a saving system, it has taught me how to grow and expand a business. I borrowed some money from my friend to start this shop and now I am working to pay them back. It has also helped me improve my pc skills, which I use for drawing machines. And I am improving my Internet skills.
Before I was occupied trying to find a scholarship to improve my education but after the training with Alchemy World I decided to open this business. I used to have another business where I brought different items from Addis and distributed in Bahir Dar. But it made me tired. This business is good, it pays my salary and it pays for my education.
This area where I have my business is new, so the marked is not yet so attractive. But hopefully in the future it will improve. The entire building is new so people haven’t yet become accustomed to using it. And there are many other shops like this and the competition is strong, so I have to find ways to be active. I am thinking about competing on price and product quality.
For the future I want to open a supermarket somewhere in the center of the city. But I still have a lot of time.
